1000: Elvis Presley – Elvis Presley (1956)

First of all, big points for album title. Just kidding.

The album starts out quick with Blue Suede Shoes and then cools down to almost half the pace with I’m Counting on You. This guy never wrote his songs, right? He didn’t write any on this album, that I’m sure of. I prefer Ray Charles version of the song he wrote featured on here, I’ve Got a Woman. Amongst others.

I had no idea the iconic album cover style for The Clash – London Calling was taken from this album. So there’s that, I suppose.

Bottom line: He’s an icon, worth a listen
