972: Bill Evans – Sunday At The Village Vanguard (1961)

I’m just not into jazz. What makes this album particularly interesting are the insane bass solos, the ability for the group to easily maneuver from quick paced to solemn and slow and the live audience who you can hear chatting on the quiet songs (for shame!) and the clinking of their glasses in between numbers. Yeah, I said numbers. In jazz they are numbers, right?

Bottom line: Do you like jazz? Do you like insane bass solos? Boy howdy, do I have the album for you.
